Rivier College to Join 10th Annual Jacob’s Bridge Through Autism Classic at NHTI
CONCORD — NHTI, Concord’s Community College will once again be the host site for the tenth annual Jacob’s Bridge Through Autism Classic. This year’s event will be played on Monday, November 15th in the Goldie Crocker Wellness Center. For the tenth straight year Keene State College, Plymouth State University, and Colby Sawyer will battle in the games. However, a new addition to the group this year will be Rivier College. The Nashua based member of the Great Northeast Athletic Conference replaces New England College, who were involved for the previous nine.
“Rivier College is very proud to be a part of the 10th annual Jacob’s Bridge Through Autism Basketball Challenge. We are excited to showcase our basketball program with the best NCAA Division three programs in New Hampshire at a wonderful facility at NHTI. This will be an exciting night for our student-athletes as we help out in a small way to a greater cause” says David Morissette, Rivier College Men’s Basketball Coach.
Rivier College will battle Keene State College in the first game, followed by CSC and PSU in game two. Coach Morissette’s team is coming off a 9-17 season and features several athletes from New Hampshire. Indeed, Don Poitras Jr and Tom Poitras are both from Bow, NH and will be returning home to the capital area to play in this event.
Jacob’s Bridge Through Autism is a charity created by John and Susan Schienman to bring awareness and hope to families with an autistic children.
